Let us know your thoughts:

We have tenativley planned a Family BBQ for Sunday to be held at a Beach Pavilion.  If we have the BBQ on Saturday it will preclude those who want to golf, and will also make Saturday a BUSY day with the school tour and the evening venue.  However another classmate has stated an interest in putting together an informal BBQ for Satuday afternoon.

Please post your opinions on having the organized Family/Class BBQ on Saturday versus Sunday. or if you would even attend a Family BBQ on Sunday.

8/9/10  The classmates that suggested a Saturday BBQ have been asked to organize that BBQ (possibly on the Beach at the Hilton) NOTE: Food & Beverages not purchased from the Hilton Hotel must be consumed on the beach not around the Pool Deck.  Alcoholic beverages are allowed on the beach as long as they are not in glass containers.

The Hilton is more than happy to accommodate guests around the pool and at their Pool Bar that are not staying in the hotel.

The drawback to having the Barbecue on Sunday is people who have to leave Sunday to get back home to go to work on Monday. Those who are coming from out of town and leaving on Sunday will have to check out of their hotel at 11:00 AM. They may need to head back home before the barbecue depending on how far away they live.

Personally, I'm planning to stay in the hotel on Fri, Sat, and Sunday nights, so it doesn't make any difference to me if the barbecue is on Saturday or Sunday. I'll go with whatever works best for everyone.

Edited to add: Am I the only one with an opinion? Jeez. And I'm the quiet one. It says so in all my yearbooks.

Thanks for repsonding, it looks like you were the only one with an opinion.

Seems like it wouldn't hurt to reserve a beach pavilion for informal BBQ's on both Saturday and Sunday.

Then, non-golfers can get together Saturday and it's convenient for folks to hang out after the memorial on Sunday.

I'll only be able to come on Sunday - so maybe a picnic on the beach by myself??  I hope not!  I'm hoping to re-connect with friends.

We are looking very positive for the Sunday BBQ.  It will be at a Beach pavilion immediately following the Paddle Out.

I am one of those coming from out of town that cannot go to the Sunday feast due to the need to get home and prepare for the next work week ~ unless of course God grants me my wish of winning the lottery then LETS PARTY...lmao

I am so excited about seeing everyone on Friday and I am sure some people will hook up and get together on Saturday during the day, whether or not there is something planned and then of course we will have Saturday night ~ I say stay the course and let what happens happen, lol

Looks like I won't be able to make it afterall.  Timing is everything - this just happens to conflict with an annual conference I can't miss.  Sorry to miss out on seeing everyone.  Janet Price

I fly out late Sunday for Frankfurt so I can do it either day.

My husband roamed around at the Reunion's Memorial Paddle Out & took a bunch of photos.

What a great weekend. Thank you to the reunion committe and all the volunteers who made it happen. I had such a great time on Friday night that I missed Saturday night (age showing). I am so sorry that I missed seeing all of you who came in just for Saturday. The Sunday paddle out was beautiful. I hope we can do it again next year!
