After MHS, attended Harvard as a Biology major, rowed varsity lightweight crew all four years. Attended Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta. Completed my internal medicine internship at the Naval Hospital San Diego then served as a Flight Surgeon with Carrier Air Wing NINE embarked on USS Nimitz (CVN-68), and was a veteran of Desert Sweep/Storm. Completed my Internal Medicine residency at the Naval Hospital San Diego, and completed my last years on active duty at the Naval Aerospace Medical Institute in Pensacola. In 1996 relocated to Melbourne and joined MIMA. In 2009 earned my MBA from George Washington University. MIMA was acquired by Health First in early 2013, and continued as medical director for quality improvement. In February 2014 I was promoted to Chief Medical Informatics Officer for Health First, a full-time administrative position.
